Creating Trust in Financial Abundance
Transformative Listening in Trust-Based Philanthropy
Learn how to truly make a difference….
Join us once a week for 8 weeks this summer to examine how the emotions that we attach to the concepts of money, financial security, and abundance influence our leadership. Meetings are virtual, one hour, once a week between late June and early August.
This program is for: financial advisors, donors, executive directors, nonprofit leaders, and social justice advocates. It is about giving as much as it is about receiving. Our method is fundamentally relational, so this course will help you engage more effectively whether your intention is to give more or receive more. You’ll learn to examine your own habits and behavior so that you bring awareness to old patterns and change them, then you serve as a model for others. You’ll feel confident, powerful, and hopeful in leading change.
What’s more, you’ll encourage change in others as you start to notice how feelings of unworthiness, resentment, and fear, even intergenerational, operate. You’ll be able to clearly identify the source of behaviors that keep us stuck and negatively impact philanthropic giving and receiving. You’ll learn to redirect people’s focus and compassionately witness past pain so that it stops influencing the present.
As a result, you will leave this program knowing how to confidently:
Encourage a balance of giving and receiving
Resolve unnecessary or inappropriate expectations that negatively impact giving
Help people accurately identify their own resources, i.e. “rightsize” their participation
Expand people’s capacity to receive without discomfort
Lead as a source of trust that inspires innovation, belonging, and a sense of abundance
How do we do this?
You’ll learn to work with the neuroscience of trauma-healing on an intergenerational and systemic level. Our groups are powerful because you experience the culture while learning how to create it. You will notice the ways themes and patterns live in you and present in the individuals and organizations that you work with. Once you know how to see these, you’ll be able to use methods of compassionate witnessing, co-regulation, and redirection to encourage resolution and the imagining of new solutions.
