Transformative Listening for Intergenerational Healing
Learn to Resolve Past Pain to Foster Healing and Innovation
Many of our clients work with groups of people who have experienced hardship for generations. This might include systemic inequalities, stories of poverty, or experiences of war or abuse. Often, in ways that we don’t realize, these experiences can continue to impact our present moment.
In this biweekly group program, you’ll learn about how trauma manifests itself in patterns of attention. These patterns are so routine, sometimes going back generations, that we’ve often never known the world without them. Once you learn to see their origin and build your capacity to be with the emotions underneath, sustainable and inspiring transformation occurs. If you are an equity builder, educator, or activist, this program will make you a powerful source of change, for yourself and others. This groups begins in August, meeting once every two weeks for 90 minutes for 8 sessions. In between sessions, you'll have the chance to engage with case studies, articles, and visuals. All meetings are recorded for easy playback if you miss a session or need to review.
This program is for you if you work in healthcare, criminal justice, peacebuilding, education, or nonprofit giving. Any work that involves engaging with trauma-impacted people in new ways benefits from this intergenerational approach.
After this course, you will:
Identify easily the emotions beneath a story
Learn to work with and release your own stories of hardship
Increase your capacity to be with people who are suffering without taking on their emotion
Clearly see the belief that emotion creates
Redirect others in order to find solutions not motivated by pain
Encourage collaboration and innovation that invites new, unexpected, and effective solutions
